My neighborhood only got a 40, which isn't very good. The funny thing is I just got back from a walk to run some errands, to the bank and the post office, with additional stops at a restaurant for lunch, and then st@rbux. Of course, the total walk was ~4 miles roundtrip, so it is an expedition generally restricted to the weekend. I guess if they were closer my score would be higher. What did you get?
My community got a 68, but I'm actually surprised it wasn't higher. I can't think of anything I can't (and don't) walk to: bank, groceries, library, schools, park, laundromat, restaurants ... That's part of the reason I like where I live; I can walk everywhere in 5 or 10 minutes.
Heya Goosie, I can't believe it our walk score is 46! I thought it would be much lower. I liked doing that because it listed a bunch of businesses that I didn't even know existed. I do recall a few years back when we considered getting rid of one car so I could stay home realizing that there was quite a bit more that I could walk to than I thought. I have a semi-good spot for the burbs. Problem is alot of these walks have no sidewalk at all, they should have taken that into consideration :( BOO!
My house is in the low 60s, but it's so close to EVERYWHERE I go, it might as well be a personal 95 or so. :) My work got an 82, though. I love the location... so convenient to all of Decatur.
