There is a very good reason for that, which I learned when taking a degree in international relations. "Diplomacy is the art of letting someone else have your way." By playing by the "Male" rules, women allow men to believe that they are still in charge, while instead changing the system from the inside to suit themselves. Sure it takes longer than revolution in the streets, but it works just as well.

Actually, since I've just read bell hooks, this strikes me more along her lines of making 'masculine' to be the ideal, as opposed to equating both 'feminine and masculine' ideals.
But then, that's what happens when you read a bunch of feminist theory. I think I need a break! lol
